This painting has been through a long journey! I first started creating it in 2020 as my very first large scale painting. It had a much lighter background and feathers. It has since been reworked twice to create just the right look and I think the dark background really lends to a much more dramatic feel. The feathers are extremely detailed and there are many hidden colors and intricacies in the pelican's long beak. It would make for a wonderful and commanding piece in an entryway or living room.

This painting was created using high-quality, archival acrylic paint on a professional grade stretched canvas with heavy duty wooden stretcher bars. All of the edges are painted so it may be hung without being framed, if desired. The back of the canvas has a sturdy hanging wire already attached so the painting will arrive ready to hang.

This artwork has been varnished with a soft satin finish.
